The Whale Moon Goddess is a hand-pulled print created using dry-point etching on copper. This process requries many small and large lines and marks scaratched or etched carefully onto a copper plate that is about 1/8th of an inch thick in order to create form and tones. The etching tool creates tiny barbs as it scratches the soft metal, and it's these tiny barbs that catch and hold the ink to reveal the image. Ink is laid onto the plate and wiped back slowly. The ink that remains in the lines and barbs is the final image that is printed. The plate is placed onto the press bed, paper is laid on top of it and then it is rolled through or under the press drum. The ink is pushed onto the paper to reveal the image. The ink used to create this print is Intense Black by Graphic Chemical & Ink company. A gorgeous warm black, it's subtle tones are magificently held by the etched marks and the final print is so incredibly crisp and tonally sumptuous that you have to see it for yourself. It is even more lush and astonishing in it's varied hues printed onto StoneHedge Eggshell Blue paper. The lightest touch of soft blue together with the intense, velvety black ink is so satisfying you wont be able to stop staring at it Her and the magificent whale carrying her to the moon and back! This print is one of Rhonda's absolute favourites and will be one of the best and most loved pieces in her Printmaking Art journey.

She dances to keeps the whales safe as they sing her songs of love and beauty. These ancient whale souls protect our planet and our life-giving oceans. For the oceans are life and all life is birthed within Her waters . She is an endless souce of creation and her depths are unknown and unexplored. The Whale Moon Goddess lives in the deep darkness of One Ocean and comes out when the whales are singing to the crescent moon, singing for peace, harmony and love for all. They are the keepers of our Earth's heartbeat, their songs surge through the Goddess's heart and it pulses with bliss. Her ocean will be vast and the one flowing source of life forver through the one and only song of creation; Love. She is love.
